Studio
I have limited availability to do producing and audio engineering work in my home studio, and I love working with other writers, artists and bands to help bring their musical vision to life. If you’re looking for a producer for your original music, let’s talk about it!
The Process
We would start with talking about and getting a clear vision for your project, and then putting together a scope, a schedule and a budget that would work for everyone involved. At this point, we should both know whether or not the project would be a good fit and whether or not we should move forward together.
Next, I like to spend quite a bit of time in pre-production to make sure all the elements of your songs flow together so that the final product is as awesome as possible. I use an 11-point checklist to evaluate all the important aspects of your songs, and we’ll spend time together going over each aspect to make sure it completely lines up with your musical vision. I’ll help you come up with your own creative ideas to improve the music and I’ll also bring my own ideas to the table, but I will never force them on you or bully you in any way.
Once we have the songs completely scoped out and optimized, we’ll plan out the studio sessions and get started with recording. We’ll spend time getting great instrument sounds, choosing the right microphones for the job and getting the best performances out of the musicians. I’ll fix any mistakes with timing and tuning and make you sound better than you ever thought you could.
Once all the parts have been recorded, I’ll mix your songs so they’re broadcast quality and sound amazing. Your music will have a great sounding 3D stereo spread, well-balanced levels and appropriate compression, reverb, delay and other effects. We’ll add cool sonic touches that bring out the best in your songs and use automation to give your project a professional sound. You’ll get to sign off on all the mixes, with up to 3 revisions, and I’ll give you a final version with and without vocals.
Once the final mixes are finished, I can guide you to the right mastering engineer who can put the finishing touches on your tracks. I can also help you with coordinating manufacturing, distribution and marketing, if you need it. Whatever your goals are, I can manage your recording project and lead it to success from beginning to end.
